1787 Auctori Plebis Token. W-8770. AU-53 (PCGS). 74.08 grains. Glossy chocolate-brown with olive highlights. Obverse rim tight to tops of PLEBIS, no visually distracting marks present, devices about as bold as ever seen for the issue, reverse rim through tops of ET LIBER and through center of date numerals, nearly a given for the type, middle die state with arcing crack behind the effigy not yet fully formed overhead and in front of figure, die break right of date area, no marks of consequence present. A choice example of the issue, and readily among the finest certified examples from PCGS.
