Description du lot
1802/1 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. BB-234, B-3. Rarity-3. AU-58 (NGC). Toned with gunmetal-gray throughout with darker tinges outlining the stars and devices. Satin smooth in the fields with minimal signs of handling and no distracting marks or problems. Diagnostic overdate feature of comical presence where no effort to efface the underdigit. Another feature unique to this obverse die is the rounded lump in the field before Liberty's eye where some even happened in the field of the die and is seen on all examples struck by this obverse. The reverse die was used over a three year span on seven different die pairings. Rarely encountered in grades of About Uncirculated, this near Mint State coin should garner considerable attention.
