When you consider the low mintage of a scant 600 Proofs of the regular as well as overdate issue, coupled with a meager population for the grade of just 7 coins, decisive action is mandatory. FATHOMLESS pools of brilliance reflect gorgeous ice blue, rose and soft champagne gold hues. Razor sharp devices are kissed with mint frost. A few insignificant hairlines are all that keep this piece from GEM status. Initially identified as an 8 underdigit by Walter Breen, but subsequently, after additional research, considered just a repunched 9 by Kevin Flynn. A highly sought after issue regardless of the underdigit. PCGS 7, NGC 0, CAC 2. Only 7 pieces grade higher.
