FROM THE BEAR CREEK COLLECTION Satiny mint frost radiates brilliantly on both sides of this untoned, Mint State example of this first year of the With Motto type. Some minor contact marks are noted across both the obverse and reverse, accounting for the assigned grade. Perhaps lightly dipped ages ago, the eye appeal is generally pleasing. Like most Seated dollars this date is challenging to find any finer. PCGS 11, NGC 8, CAC 4. NO CAC approved example in MS62, graded by either service has ever sold in auction. This coin sold for $4,406 in November 2012, and since then, just two have sold in auction. The current Collectors Universe value is $4,000. MS63s are rarely encountered as well.
