Lot Description
A wonderful GEM Indian Head quarter eagle! What a great looking specimen for the type or date collector! Boldly lustrous, satiny and glowing with a lovely golden brilliance, highlighting sharply defined devices. Accents of rose and apricot highlight a rich yellow gold coloration. A strong glass reveals a few tiny traces of contact, mostly hidden and invisible to the naked eye. The visual allure is quite bold. PCGS 880, NGC 641, CAC 102. The most recent example sold for $3,360 in October 2022. The current CAC CPG value is $3,250 and the PCGS Price Guide value is $2,750. A commoner date in lower Mint State, it is quite scarce in MS65 or finer, especially RARE with CAC approval. Cert. Number 8257684 PCGS # 7950
