29 graded XF-40, 73 higher at PCGS. One of the very tough dates within the Barber half-dollar series, 1896-O is elusive in most grades and particularly difficult to locate as well detailed as this PCGS XF-40 specimen. Lilac-grey suffuses the obverse right field, balanced against a general impression of graphite and coral-grey undertones. An occasional twinge of luster may still be found in various areas right next to high relief elements, especially on the reverse.
