1787 Massachusetts Cent. Ryder 4-C, W-6100. Rarity-4-. Bowed Head, Arrows in Left Talon. VF-35 (PCGS). Handsome deep brown on both sides, the surfaces retain bold to sharp detail over all major design elements. The strike is well centered on the planchet and, although several minor marks are scattered about in the fields, the overall appearance is pleasing for a Massachusetts copper that saw extensive circulation. A few small edge bumps are also noted, again to no great detriment to the coin's appearance. All in all, this is a pleasing mid grade example of both the type and die marriage. PCGS# 302.
