Lot Description

The second finest graded of this RARE Barber dime variety at PCGS. The mint employee who was putting the O mint mark on, placed it incorrectly in the horizontal axis, and realizing his mistake, rotated the punch and reapplied it. Satin-like luster blooms on both sides accenting the dove-gray and russet-tan toning. Sharply struck, the devices are very pleasing overall. COMBINED, PCGS and NGC have graded 24 examples in ALL grades. PCGS 1, NGC 0. There is only a single PCGS MS66 finer. Nothing this high grade has sold, but the current CU value is listed at $4,000.
