- Lot Description
- 1800 Draped Bust Half Cent. C-1, B-1b, the only known dies. Rartiy-1. Manley Die State 4.0. MS-61 BN (NGC). This is a handsome BU with subdued gold and pale-rose undertones to dominant copper-gray patina. The strike is well balanced and generally bold in the context of the assigned die state (Manley 4.0), and the only mentionable softness of detail is confined to the word OF in the reverse legend. With no blemishes of note, the surface preservation for this coin is suggestive of a higher Mint State rating. An excellent high grade type candidate from the first year of the Draped Bust half cent series.
