CURACAO. 3 Reaals (18 Stivers), ND (ca. 1818). PCGS FINE-12 Gold Shield. KM-28; Prid-27. Cut 1/5 segment of a Spanish Colonial 8 Reales stamped with a "3" in a linear circle. Countermark EF Detail, boldly punched over first assayer initial (second is "J"). Host and countermark are very dark toned and free of distracting marks. Estimate: $300 - $500.
