Lot Description

Truly a lovely Choice VF, this richly toned, chocolate and rose-brown example is seemingly earmarked for inclusion in a circulated type set. Overall boldly struck, as befits the variety, the only mentionable softness of detail is confined to the lower right reverse, where there is little to no denticulation. Free of singularly mentionable blemishes, although close inspection with a loupe reveals minor marks scattered about, as well as a hint of microroughness to the texture, none of which features are significant for a mid-grade Liberty Cap half cent. Seldom are early date half cents found this wholesome, in fact, and this is a desirable coin for any type of collection that is seeking a circulated example of this type, issue, or Cohen number.
