Lot Description

EX JULES REIVER COLLECTION, as noted on the holder. A condition census level O-115 half dollar in near-GEM grade from one of the great collections of early federal varieties. Extremely lustrous surfaces are lightly dusted with rose-gold, slate-gray, olive-tan, and pale blue color that graces the surfaces. Nicely struck, with just a trace of weakness, typical to the date. The eye appeal is very high end for the grade. PCGS 62, NGC 64, CAC 16. This coin sold in April 2018 for $4,080 and more recently an example with splotchy toning brought $5,460 in September 2018. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $4,000. A coin like this will see very spirited bidding from the Bust half collector. Cert. Number 308143-002 PCGS # 006137
