THE GEORGE SCHWENK COLLECTION The 24-S nickel boasts one of the lowest mintages of the series with fewer than 1.5 million coming off the dies. These went right into circulation out west, where they would remain unnoticed for its scarcity until the vast majority were well circulated. The presently offered example is very pleasing and totally original. A soft lavender-pewter patina graces both sides, enlivened by the rich underlying mint brilliance. Well struck for the date with some die clashes noted in the fields. Super clean for the assigned grade, the eye appeal is very impressive for the assigned grade. PCGS 78, NGC 33, CAC 10. This coin is so high end, it realized $7,800 a year ago. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $7,000. No PCGS / CAC MS64 has sold since 2019.
