Lot Description

1787 Massachusetts Cent. Ryder 6-G, W-6140. Rarity-4-. Arrows in Left Talon, Stout Indian. VF-20. 158.95 grains. Deep golden-brown surfaces exhibit soft rose-orange highlights that smack of a long-ago and since recovered cleaning. Tiny obverse rim tick at 4 o'clock, light scratches at arrow, no other marks, reverse with natural planchet flaws, as struck, at bottom around date and tail feathers. All things considered, still a wholly acceptable Massachusetts cent. PCGS# 302. Provenance: Paper envelope with attribution notes included.
