Lot Description

1799/8 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. B-1, BB-142. Rarity-4. BB Die State III. 13-Star Reverse. VF-30 (PCGS). Medium silver-gray with darker gray patches on the obverse and reverse. The strike is shallow as is common to this variety, but the surfaces have smooth wear and a few old fields scuffs behind Liberty's ribbon. Later die state than commonly seen with the cracks advanced and the failure around the I of AMERICA spreading further as more coins were struck. An important and desirable overdate issue. PCGS# 6884.
