Earlier this month, single-graded U.S. and world coins priced at $500 or more, as well as single raw U.S. coins priced at $500 or more, became eligible for expert-backed authentication at no additional cost.
Buyers now see the blue Authenticity Guarantee checkmark on eligible listings. After a purchase is completed, the item is shipped to PCGS for a comprehensive, multi-point physical inspection, where experts inspect it to confirm that it’s genuine and matches the listing description (no regrading is performed). Once the coin passes inspection, it’s sent to the buyer.
For collectors, that means greater peace of mind when making important purchases. For sellers, it means independent verification of the coin’s key value-driving attributes and enhanced post-sale protection.
