We are excited to announce three new additions to the PCGS Set Registry this month, offering fresh challenges for collectors of classic silver and modern masterpieces alike. New to the PCGS Set Registry? The PCGS Set Registry is completely free to join. It is an incredibly fun and rewarding way to share your collection with a growing global community of enthusiasts, allowing you to showcase your favorite pieces and see exactly how your sets and individual coins measure up against the finest in the hobby.

The Morgan 50

The Morgan 50 is an innovative composite that expertly balances the thrill of a long-term pursuit with a curated selection of dates and mintmarks. While the foundational set is accessible to most, assembling this collection with an eye toward perfection presents a formidable and rewarding challenge.

We anticipate collectors will approach this set through various creative lenses. Some may strive for a matched-grade set for technical consistency, while others might curate a gallery of vividly toned specimens. Advanced collectors may choose to complete the 50-coin run exclusively with PL (Prooflike) and DMPL (Deep Mirror Prooflike) strikes. For those seeking the ultimate specialized challenge, the set can even be restricted to world-class VAM varieties.

The possibilities are vast, and we look forward to seeing how you define your collection. Start your build today!

The Thomas S. Cleveland Designer Set

Thomas S. Cleveland is a distinguished American illustrator and a cornerstone of modern numismatic design. As one of the inaugural "Master Designers" in the United States Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program (AIP), Cleveland contributed his extensive background in fine art to our nation’s coinage from 2004 to 2014. With 15 official design credits for U.S. coins and medals, Cleveland remains one of the most prolific artists in the hobby. Since his tenure at the Mint, he has maintained a significant presence in the community, notably through his collaboration with PCGS on a series of hand-signed certification labels that are highly prized by enthusiasts.

The Top 37 Trade Dollar Varieties

The Trade Dollar community has long anticipated this set, following the publication of Joe Kirchgessner’s seminal work, U.S. Trade Dollar: Rarity, Collection Types, and Top 37 Varieties. This reference filled a significant numismatic void, providing the scholarly attention this short-lived series deserves. While most collectors are familiar with the legendary, proof-only 1884 and 1885 rarities, few realize the series' true underlying complexity. By adapting Kirchgessner’s "Top 37" list — utilizing a weighting scale developed in collaboration with leading specialists — this set offers a formidable challenge for even the most dedicated numismatist. Fortunately for the astute collector, "cherry-picking" opportunities abound for those who know what to look for.

The challenge is set. What are you waiting for?
