1846-O Liberty Head Half Eagle. AU-50 (NGC). Boldly to sharply defined with plenty of mint luster remaining to bright golden yellow surfaces. Though 58,000 half eagles of this date and mint were struck, the coffers of commerce in the region put much of the mintage to use. The end result is that the majority of survivors appear in the VF to EF range. This is a scarce 1846-O at the AU level of preservation that belongs in an advanced collection. PCGS# 8230. NGC ID: 25TK.
