Lot Description

1787 Machin's Mills Halfpenny. Vlack 20-87C, W-7950. Rarity-6+. GEORGIVS III. VF-20. 104.94 grains. Deep olive-brown with some rouge-red detritus among the obverse design elements and with uniformly micro-rough surfaces on both sides, evenly struck with a few light marks at the effigy's shoulder, reverse nicely centered with the design devices bold for the assigned grade, an old scrape beneath NI, some ticks below Britannia's branch hand. Finer in person than our description lets on. A rare variety in any grade. PCGS# 469.
