1872 Two-Cent Piece. FS-101. Doubled Die Obverse. MS-65 RB (NGC). Rarely seen in any grade and especially so in full Gem Mint State with the present coin towering as one of just four seen at this grade level and none finer. The obverse and reverse boast faded mint red with light tan and brown blended together. No specks or spots and the strike is fairly sharp. Notice the doubling on TRUST, especially on the T's where the doubled die is confirmed. NGC has only seen 11 of these in various grades, providing and indication of the rarity of this doubled die obverse. A specialist's coin that deserves attention.
