Losbeschreibung
1652 Pine Tree Threepence. Noe-34, Salmon 1-A, W-630. Rarity-4. Pellets at Trunk. VF-30 (PCGS). Rich steel gray patina with intermingled blushes of lighter pewter gray on the reverse. The obverse strike is aligned towards 12 o'clock, as is typically seen for the variety. The reverse is better centered, although the tops of the letters LAN are off the flan at bottom. The tree is remarkably sharp and surrounded by a full beaded circle. Isolated areas of softness are noted for the reverse, the date fully legible (despite softness to the digit 1) and the denomination III bold. A loupe reveals microscopic roughness to the texture and a few trivial flan flaws, but no mentionable marks. All in all, a coin that delivers exceptional mid grade quality, which is seldom seen on this denomination. PCGS# 45365. NGC ID: 2ARP. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
