Ex Henry Hilgard and Gehring Prouty.  A stunning, untoned coin with blinding luster.  The strike and surfaces are all one might hope for.  The reverse is surely uncirculated; the obverse with but a trace of friction on the portrait.  From the collection of Tim Osborne, acquired privately at the now legendary sale of the Prouty Collection during the 2000 ANA Convention in Philadelphia.  Est. $1,100 to $1,500..
