- The Lakewood Collection. 61 in AU-53 and 344 higher at NGC. Of the original 153,000 quarter-eagles minted in New Orleans in 1854, only 700 are estimated to have survived to the present. This NGC AU-53 example is extremely choice for the grade and the obverse must have been struck from newly polished dies as the fields still show a high degree of reflectivity, despite some signs of wear.
