Lot Description

1889 Liberty Seated Quarter. Proof-65 Cameo (PCGS). Brilliant and fully reflective in the fields, contrasting with with richly frosted devices and legends for a bold cameo effect on both obverse and reverse. Obverse toned in a wash of clear orange-gold that coalesces to rich rose-gold at the upper left, the reverse also toned in pale champagne with an arcing band lilac and amber across the eagle's right (viewer's left) wing. A simply beautifully toned Gem that has not been liberated of its color by collector or dealer who prefers bright white coins.
