Lot 427 1848 N-1 R1 Repunched Date NGC graded MS63 Brown.Frosty medium chocolate brown and steel. Satiny luster covers the fields and protected areas on both sides and this cent has excellent eye appeal. The only notable marks, and they are trivial, are a microscopic tick on the throat and a tiny splash of reddish toning right of star 12. Nicely struck E-MDS, die state b. The repunching on the 4 is clear but only traces of the repunching remain visible on the 1 and first 8. Our grade is MS60, tied with several other examples for CC#6 honors in the Grellman census.
