Tied for FINEST GRADED 1889 Proof cent in the RD category, this coin is a fantastic looking GEM. Intensely brilliant surfaces gleam from below a wonderful melange of orange, rose, and violet iridescence over rich brick red surfaces. Exceptionally well preserved, this coin has been tied for FINEST since 2004, when the Population was 9 in this lofty grade; in the intervening 19 years, only a single example was added to the Population Report.
