1876 Octagonal 50 Cents. BG-953. Rarity-5. Indian Head. MS-64 (PCGS). Deep honey-gold surfaces with frosty motifs and richly reflective fields that exhibit pale-olive iridescence. A scarce and popular issue from Christoph Mohrig in San Francisco. Boldly struck with even the tiniest details plainly presented. Just four examples of BG-953 have been graded finer than the present piece by PCGS, none of those above MS-65.
