1863-S Liberty Head Double Eagle. EF-45 (NGC). A popular Civil War era gold issue from the San Francisco facility for mintmarked type purposes, represented here by a richly toned honey-gold example. Direct lighting calls forth faint traces of original luster, as well as iridescent champagne-pink undertones. Provenance: Ex Granite Lady Hoard. PCGS# 8940. NGC ID: 269R.
