The Crimson Collection. Many prooflike 1879 half-dollars exist, but there is just something about a true proof that brings out the best in the Seated Liberty design. Extremely precise detailing shows throughout and the obverse deserves some consideration for a CAMEO designation, although the mirrors on the reverse possess less depth of reflectivity. Butterscotch toning overall gets accented by russet-purple nuances outside the upper periphery.
