1831 Matron Head Cent. N-12/4. Rarity-1 (Rarity-4 for die state). Large Letters. VG-8 (PCGS). The full-blown terminal die state of the variety with the classic "harpooned whale" cud now covering the entirety of the lower two points of star 12. Pale brown surfaces with some nicks and light roughness, but not too bad for the grade. Provenance: From the John McBride Collection. Earlier from our August 2015 Chicago ANA Auction, lot 126.
