- Available as a proof only, the 1878 gets heavy demand from collectors of circulation strikes who nevertheless want an example from every year. Here is a sparkling cameo example that appears nearly pristine beneath nickel-grey patina. The surfaces show as being virtually free from contact marks or spotting, except for a small anomaly on the reverse at 4:00.
