This attractive Draped Bust half dollar is warm silver-gold with golden-gray highlights throughout and seemingly enjoys original “skin;” if it was ever tampered with it wasn’t in our lifetime. Though “only” VF-20, this specimen enjoys enough overall quality to enjoy “gem” status within the assigned grade. The surfaces appear flawless to the naked eye, and finding a blemish with a loupe is a challenge unto itself. The consignor of many of the mid-grade pieces in this portion of the sale showed a remarkable eye for quality at every grade level, and the benefits of his picky nature are now offered to a new group of collectors.
