The Never-To-C.A.C. Collection. 4 graded MS-67, 1 graded MS-67 "star", zero higher at NGC. In lofty grades, 1917 is much more rare as type-2 than as a type-1, and in superb condition, it is an outstanding rarity at either grading service. Note that this commentary is with regard to coins that did not achieve "full head" status, as is the case here, although one cannot deny that the details are very close to ideal. The three sprigs do not quite get full delineation at Liberty's head. An exceptionally unusual area of orange peel texture dominates the center of Liberty's motif.
