1848 Braided Hair Cent. N-33. Rarity-5. AU-50BN (NGC). Light olive brown with faint steel mottling on the obverse. One small obverse rim nick near Star 2, and a few other marks on both sides, as expected for the grade. A rare variety, this one picked unattributed in a 2012 sale and thus a relative newcomer to those known. Only one die state has been observed for the variety.
