- 1868 Liberty Half Eagle. AU-55 (NGC). Deep honey gold with bold orange highlights, especially at the rims. The fields are modestly prooflike and the devices somewhat frosted. One of only 5,700 examples of the date struck, and a rare Philadelphia MInt issue in high grade; NGC has certified just two examples of the date in Mint State, the finest of those MS-62. Choice for the grade.
