This issue is much scarcer than its identically dated Arrows counterpart, due to both a more limited mintage (160,000 vs. 2,200,000 coins) and the undoubted loss of many examples through melting. And this is a condition rarity near-Mint State survivor with blushes of vivid reddish-russet and steel-blue iridescence on otherwise silver gray surfaces. There are some marks from circulation, and the date is somewhat softly defined, but the in-hand appearance is both suitably bold and pleasingly smooth. With the typical example well worn, if not also impaired, the opportunity to acquire a certified AU-58 for this issue is a rare one that deserves the utmost in bidder attention.
