1870 Pattern Quarter. Judd-885, Pollock-983. Rarity-7-. Copper. Plain Edge. Proof-64 RB (PCGS). Barber's seated Liberty to left with liberty pole and cap, shield with LIBERTY in raised letters on a draped ribbon, 13 stars around, date below, reverse from the regular-issue quarter dollar die of the date. Deep chestnut brown with iridescent blue and red highlights. A rare issue with fewer than a dozen examples estimated to exist.
