Losbeschreibung: Breen Die State II. An impressive example with lustrous, frosty surfaces dressed in rich chocolate-brown patina. The strike is outstanding for the type, both sides nicely centered on the planchet and the detail sharp to full for most design elements. A tiny planchet pit off the tip of the uppermost ribbon end is as made, while a thin mark along the back of Liberty's cheek and a pair of scuffs in the field above the bust serve as useful identifiers. Highly regarded among Sheldon-187 cents, the Widmer Family specimen is tied for CC#6 in the Bland census with an EAC grade of AU50, while Bill Noyes grades it EAC AU55 with a ranking of CC#4. Outstanding provenance, too!
