Lot Description

Crazy Animal Collection. Wiley-Bugert-104 (R5+), "medium date, large letters". Of three obverse dies that features a medium date, this is the die with no repunching of the date (i.e. "perfect dies"). The WB guide suggests the coin to be quite rare but that may change as the series becomes better studied and collected by variety. A modestly lustrous example, each side displays splashes of toning toward the rim, with the reverse in particular showing an album toning pattern.
