A lovely and totally original toned, VERY CHOICE Proof 1864 cent. The mint went through a major transition in 1864 switching from the copper-nickel to bronze. This high end example, housed in an old NGC-fatty holder and CAC approved is exceptional with ample red and delicate overtones over the highly reflective mirrored fields. The eye appeal is great. PCGS 38, NGC 26, CAC 9. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $1,750 and the CAC CPG value is listed at $2,250.
