1837 Capped Bust Half Dollar. Reeded Edge. 50 CENTS. GR-9. Rarity-1. MS-61 (PCGS). Here is a superior Mint State example of this brief design type from the final years of the popular Capped Bust half dollar series. Otherwise brilliant, the satiny surfaces exhibit subtle reddish-gold iridescence around the peripheries. Sharply defined in the centers with much to recommend it to the discerning numismatist.
