1856-FD Octagonal 25 Cents. BG-107. Rarity-4-. Liberty Head. AU-58 (PCGS). OGH. Crudely reeded edge. Gold-plated over lesser gold core. Deep olive-gold with frosty motifs and slightly reflective fields. Low magnification reveals some faint old obverse scratches. A Frontier, Deviercy & Co. issue, FD maker's mark on Liberty's coronet. Die State I: "Rusty on head, die heavily repolished. Letters and numerals crude and mostly filled, leading to this date's being occasionally misread as 1866." PCGS# 10376.
