Lot Description
1824 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-104. Rarity-2. MS-65 (PCGS). CAC. An intensely lustrous Gem with a bold array of golden toning ranging from bold champagne and a touch of fiery sunset orange on the obverse to a broader array of deep orange, crimson, and electric blue on the reverse. Struck about as boldly as you are apt to see for the date, and the frosty surfaces are visually immaculate, especially to the unassisted eye. The Coin Facts plate coin. The only MS-65 example of the variety certified by PCGS, with none graded finer by that firm. The known pedigree of this beautiful Gem half dollar stretches back more than a century, and evidently this particular coin has been lovingly cared for during that long time. Will you be the next steward of this remarkable numismatic delicacy?
