1837 Classic Quarter Eagle. Breen-6145. MS-63 (NGC). This softly lustrous honey-gold specimen plays host to lively olive highlights. The strike is about typical, with some central softness in Liberty's hair details as well as the shield area of the reverse. No marks of any magnitude are seen with the naked eye, and a glass provides none worthy of attention. An obverse die crack runs from the rim at 1 o'clock downward through star 9 and the back of Liberty's tresses, then across her neck and into the field where it terminates at the 8 in the date. A pleasing example.
