- 1863 Pattern Indian Cent. Judd-299, Pollock-359. Rarity-3. Proof-64 RB (PCGS). Bronze. Plain edge. Judd-299, as here, represents the Mint's first experiment with the new bronze alloy. Satiny golden tan and mint orange form a pleasing woodgrain effect. Dies aligned at 360 degrees or <em>medal</em> turn, as are virtually all known examples of the variety. A popular adjunct to the Indian cent series.
