1855 Braided Hair Half Cent. C-1, B-1, the only known dies. Rarity-1. MS-66 BN (NGC). Despite the BN color designation from NGC, this coin reveals considerable medium-orange luster in the protected areas around the devices. Ample gray-brown toning is also noted, of course, and the surfaces free of mentionable abrasions. Minor softness of detail in isolated areas is hardly significant for a business strike Half Cent of this type.
