Description du lot
Glorious and richly toned! Beautiful, concentric rainbow bands ring the obverse, a result of long term storage in a paper envelope or old album where it was able to sit unmolested for years. The colors really are vivid and they captivate the viewer's gaze from across the room. The reverse is mostly untoned with a very narrow halo of rainbow tone. Stunning, brilliant mint luster dances on ultra smooth surfaces. The strike is strong with nearly full band details on the reverse and the center band is just shy of being split and earning the FB designation. PCGS 257, NGC 390, CAC 20. There are only 8 graded MS67+ at PCGS and there are 8 finer. This is a coin that all published prices are useless. We sold a PCGS MS68 CAC with a very similar look in our Regency Auction XVI, February 2016 for $3,525. This coin should bring a very strong bid from the toned Mercury dime collector. Good luck! Cert. Number 25230064 PCGS # 5026
