- 1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. BB-21, B-1. Rarity-1. Two Leaves. EF-45 (NGC). The extreme rarity and consequent cost of the first-year 1794 leaves the 1795 as the only realistic type candidate from the brief Flowing Hair Silver Dollar series. We offer here a generally bold EF with only light wear to the higher elements of the design. The strike is a bit soft in and around the centers, but not uncommonly so for a product of the fledgling United States Mint. Mostly silver-gray in tone, a few swirls of warmer russet-gold iridescence are confined to the peripheries. A few faint adjustment marks in the centers are as struck.
