Cohen-4, B-4 has nomenclature as the "punctuated date", but this example is thoroughly remarkable for the fact that it appears to completely lack the die-break between "17" for which the variety is named. All of the other pickup points are there, including a die crack from the rim to the top of "I" in LIBERTY, a dot-shaped die break atop "R", and various other tiny raised dots. On the reverse, the denomination is characteristically distorted by the dies, a leaf points to the middle of "D", the two top leaves are left of center of "ES" above, and another leaf point stops at the center of the first "A" in AMERICA. All in all, this should be C-4 "punctuated date".... except that the punctuation itself does not exist! An intriguing find for the specialist.
