1819 Matron Head Cent. N-8. Rarity-1. Small Date. MS-63 RB (NGC). CAC. The design elements are emphasized by subtle halos of pinkish Mint luster across each side, accenting the otherwise lilac and hazelnut coloration of the patina. The fields are remarkably smooth, with just a light pinscratch near the top of star 1 to be noted under scrutiny. Struck from an early state of the dies equivalent to Noyes Die State A/A, and likely within the top dozen or so examples known of the variety. Provenance: From the Paradise Collection.
